How does working with a VA actually work?
Everything happens inside your existing systems - your inbox, calendar, accounting software and filing. You give me access with permissions you set, and you can remove that access in seconds at any time. There's no new software to learn and no complicated setup. We communicate by email or WhatsApp, and you'll get a weekly Friday summary so you always know what's been done.
For example, if you use Gmail, you simply add me as a delegate. Google Calendar, Outlook, or shared drives like Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox work in the same way, a quick permission invite and I'm in.
For anything that requires shared login details, I use LastPass to share credentials securely, no passwords passed over email or WhatsApp. LastPass is one of the most trusted password managers available, and for you as the client it's straightforward to use. You simply share access at the click of a button and revoke it just as easily whenever you choose.
Is my information safe with you?
I'm registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) as a data controller. This means I have a legal responsibility to handle your data safely and transparently, not just a promise to do so. I work inside your systems so your files stay exactly where they are. I'm also covered by professional indemnity insurance through PolicyBee.
Is everything I share with you kept confidential?
Absolutely. Everything you share with me, whether that's business information, client details, or anything discussed in our conversations, stays strictly between us. Confidentiality isn't just a legal obligation for me, it's fundamental to how I work. I'll never discuss your business with anyone else, and an NDA is available as standard if you'd like that commitment in writing.
What if I only need help occasionally?
That's absolutely fine. My ad-hoc rate is £35 an hour with no minimum commitment, you pay only for what you use.
If your needs are more consistent, a monthly retainer might suit you better. You agree a set number of hours upfront each month, those hours are reserved exclusively for you, and you'll always know exactly what you're paying. It's ideal if you want reliable, ongoing support without having to think about it each time. But if flexible works better for you, that's absolutely fine too.
Do I need to be local to work with you?
Not at all. I work 100% remotely with clients across the UK. Whether you're in Burton or Brighton makes no difference.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a week or two of our discovery call, depending on current availability. Once we agree on the package, I'll send a simple contract to sign and we're ready to go.
Do you sign a contract or NDA?
Yes. I provide a simple service agreement for all clients, and an NDA is offered as standard.
Do you only work with certain types of business?
I work with a wide range of small businesses and busy individuals. From sole traders and tradespeople to practices and retail shops. If you're a small business owner or busy individual who needs admin support, book a call and we'll find out if we're a good fit.
Can I try you out before committing to a retainer?
Absolutely. Whether it's the Inbox Detox (from £200) or just a small task you need sorting, a one-off project is a great way to see how we work together before deciding on ongoing support.
How do I know what you've been doing?
You'll receive a Friday summary of everything completed that week. Full transparency is part of how I work.
What happens if something goes wrong?
In over 25 years of admin and support work, open communication has always been the thing that prevents issues before they arise. That said, I hold professional indemnity insurance through PolicyBee for complete peace of mind, and if anything ever did crop up, you'd hear it from me straight away. Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable for me.
